Description

"Westkapelle Hoog", also known as "d'n Toren" locally, is a prominent lighthouse in #Westkapelle (Zeeland), the Netherlands. Originally built between 1458 and 1470 as the "Sint-Willibrorduskerk", a gothic church, it served the community until a fire destroyed the church in 1831, leaving only the tower intact. In 1818, prior to the fire, a lighthouse was installed atop the 52.3 meters tall tower to aid maritime navigation.
