The "Rubenshuis" in Antwerp was the residence and studio of the renowned painter Peter Paul Rubens. In 1610, after marrying Isabella Brant, Rubens renovated a house on the Wapper, designing it himself inspired by Italian Renaissance palaces. He established a large studio where he and his students produced numerous artworks. After his death in 1640, the house changed ownership several times. The city of Antwerp acquired it in 1937, and after restoration, it opened as a museum in 1946. The museum showcases works by Rubens and his contemporaries. As of 2024, visitors enter through a new building at Hopland 13.
