The "Oude Kerk" is the oldest building and parish church in #Amsterdam. Founded as a wooden chapel c. 1213, it was rebuilt in stone and consecrated in 1306 as a Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Nicholas. Expanded over centuries into a gothic hall church with transepts, aisles, and a Lady Chapel (1552), it features Dutch gothic architecture: high bare walls, columns, medieval stained-glass windows, and vault paintings.
