"Bobolice Castle", a 14th-century royal stronghold in Poland's Jura highlands near #Bobolice, was built by King Casimir III the Great on a steep rocky hill to defend the western border against Silesia, likely replacing an earlier wooden fort. Its architecture featured a multi-storey residential building, a cylindrical wall tower, a drawbridge over a dry moat, and battlemented perimeter walls constructed from local white limestone. It passed through noble families such as Dołęga (whose coat of arms still graces the gate), Szafrańcowie, Krezowie, and Myszkowscy. Pre-war decline began with heavy damage in 1587 during Archduke Maximilian III's invasion, followed by total ruin by Swedish troops in 1657 amid the Deluge.
