The "Kruithuis" in #Delft (Zuid-Holland), built in 1660 after the 1654 Delft gunpowder explosion, was designed by architect Pieter Post as a gunpowder storage facility. Located outside the city walls for safety, the complex includes a gatehouse, guardhouse, and two powder towers situated in a moat. Constructed with thick walls and copper fittings to prevent sparks, it could store up to 400,000 pounds of gunpowder.
