The "Onze Lieve Vrouwegasthuis" in #Leiden (Zuid-Holland) is a complex of 16th-century buildings that became an orphanage in 1583. Its north wing was added in 1604, and between 1774 and 1778 it was extensively rebuilt when the Arme Kinderhuis merged with the Holy Spirit institution, giving the façade classical proportions punctuated by a relief of children gazing at a dove and the motto "God is der weesen helper".
