The town hall of #Brugge (West-Vlaanderen), one of the oldest in the Low Countries, was built on the Burg square between 1376 and 1421. Replacing a former prison, it became the city's administrative center and a symbol of Bruges' 14th-century economic and political prosperity. Its late-gothic facade, featuring the innovative Bruges bay window design, influenced other city halls in Brussels, Ghent, Leuven, and Oudenaarde. The facade includes statues of historical figures, many replaced after damage during the French Revolution.
