Description

The "Zeeuws Genootschap Museum", hosued in an 18th-century mansion in #Middelburg (Zeeland), features a projecting central section, stone plinth, and window frames, with a staircase platform and ornate entrance. Its interior includes wrought iron stair balusters and stucco ceilings. Donated by Mr. G.N. de Stoppelaar for museum use, its garden displays a carved wooden gable from a Lange Delft house, once owned by Pieternella Johanna van Benthem Jutting-van den Broecke. After her husband Leendert's death in 1887, she converted her home into a shop, preserving its unique wooden facade, the last in Middelburg. Donated to the Zeeuws Genootschap, it was relocated in 1888 to the museum's side wall on Wagenaarstraat.
