"De Wolf" later "De Wolvin" in #Brussel was depicted in 1594 with a wooden gable. It became the archers' guild property in the early 17th century. A stone facade was added in 1641, destroyed in the 1690 fire. Rebuilt in 1690-1691 by Pieter Herbosch, the baroque facade, largely preserved, features a phoenix and 1696 chronogram. Sculptures by Marcus Devos were removed in 1793. Restored in 1847 and 1890-1892 by Pierre Victor Jamaer, it includes Euville and Savonnière stone, iron grilles, and allegorical statues by Jean Herain. The four-story, three-bay building has a symmetrical baroque facade with Doric and Ionic pilasters, medallions, and a pediment with Apollo chasing Python. The phoenix, symbolizing rebirth, crowns the gable.
