Description

"Kasteel Claeys-Bouüaert" in #Mariakerke (Oost-Vlaanderen), built in 1890-1892, is a Flemish neo-renaissance-style castle designed by Antwerpen architect Joseph Schadde for Edmond Bracq-Hurraux. Constructed with brick and limestone, it sits in a tree-filled domain with moats suggesting a Frankish "motte" origin. The castle was rebuilt after earlier demolitions in 1869-1870 and 1888-1889.
