Description

"Huis Ampsen", a two-story mansion with a high hipped roof and chimneys in #Lochem (Gelderland), features two protruding side wings at the northwest entrance. Built around 1650 by Johan van Nagell, the main and southeast wings have vaulted cellars. The northwest wing, likely added in 1754, includes a Louis XV-style central risaliet with a lobed pediment and alliance arms. The house gained its classical facade with a central entrance and side wings during this renovation. A clock from 1687 and an 18th-century pendulum clock adorn the pediment. Late 19th-century updates included new windows, and a 1935 renovation added a pentagonal tower. The entrance has an 18th-century stone platform with lion statues from 1873. The interior features an 18th-century oak staircase, a rococo stucco ceiling, and a 1650 chimney piece.
