"Hof van Grimbergen" is a monumental mansion located in the main shopping street of #Mechelen (Antwerpen). It was originally built in 1559 as a mansion for Archbishop Willem van Berghes, later passing to his nephew Godfried and wife Honorina until 1650, then sold to J.-A. De Ruysscher. Architect Franz Hemelsoet rebuilt it into an eclectic city palace from 1909-1912. The facade features natural stone, Ionic pilasters, neo-baroque ornaments, sculpted masks, and signed plinth by Hemelsoet. Interiors boast detailed walls, ceilings, gilded doors, and an iron staircase by Louis Van Boeckel.
