"Waddesdon Manor" is a neo-renaissance country house in #Waddesdon, built from 1874 to 1889 for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild as a luxurious weekend retreat. Architect Gabriel-Hippolyte Destailleur crafted an eclectic French château-inspired design, drawing from Loire Valley examples: towers modeled on Château de Maintenon, and ornate twin staircase towers echoing Chambord. Rising on a bare hilltop site with no prior residence, it was finished in 1883, then expanded with a Bachelors' Wing and a late-gothic Morning Room.
