"Doornburgh" is a 17th-century estate along the Vecht River in Maarssen. In 1623, Amsterdam merchant Jan Claesz. Vlooswijck purchased the land, and it changed owners multiple times. In 1684, Utrecht cleric Willem van Zon acquired it and likely carried out major renovations. In the early 19th century, landscape architect J.D. Zocher designed a park around the house. Since 2017, Doornburgh has been transformed into a space for art and science.
