The "Spaans Gouvernement" in #Maastricht (Limburg) is likely the city's oldest surviving residence. Originally a 14th-century canon's house, it was later used by dukes of Brabant and Spanish rulers like Charles V and Philip II. Renovated in the 16th century, it features gothic windows with imperial symbols and a Liège renaissance-style gallery. From 1567-1616, it housed the Spanish military governor.
