The "Belvédère" is a former watchtower located in #Nijmegen (Gelderland), Netherlands, on the eastern side of the Valkhof in Hunnerpark. Constructed around 1450 as a wall tower, it was elevated to a "play tower" around 1646 by city architect Peter van Blokhout and restored in 1888 by J.J. Weve. Above the entrance are two replica gable stones, the originals of which are housed in the Municipal Museum; the upper stone is dated 1646. These replicas were crafted in 1888 by Henri Leeuw Sr. and Henri Leeuw Jr. The Belvédère is prominently visible from the Waalbrug heading towards Nijmegen. Currently, the tower houses a restaurant featuring an oak fireplace with sandstone jambs dating back to 1626. The Belvédère is designated as a national monument with registration number 31140.
