"Kasteel de Renesse", located in #Oostmalle (Antwerpen), Belgium, was originally built between 1431 and 1464 by Willem van Berchem. The castle suffered significant damage in 1542 during a regional conflict, leading to its reconstruction between 1545 and 1548 by Jan VIII van Renesse. This new design featured a square layout with four corner towers. Notable guests included Emperor Charles V and William of Orange. In the 19th century, Viscount Léonard du Bus de Gisignies transformed the castle into a country house with Empire-style interiors and an English garden. After changing hands through marriage, the castle underwent further renovations in the early 20th century.
