The "Bourlaschouwburg" is a neoclassical theatre in central #Antwerpen, designed by city architect Pierre Bruno Bourla in 1827 and completed in 1834. Built on the site of the former Tapissierspand, it was originally named Grand Théâtre or Théâtre Royal Français, reflecting its French-speaking company. The theatre features original 19th-century wooden stage machinery, still operational today, making it unique in Europe. It has a capacity of around 900 seats.
