Koornbloem

Description

A baroque house in #Mechelen (Antwerpen) with two bays and two stories under a gabled roof. Designed by Lucas Fayd'herbe in 1684, restored in 1918. It features a sandstone façade with blue limestone detailing, ornate doorway and windows, and a crowning register with baroque cartouches dated ANNO/1684. The stepped gable has decorative arches and an oculus. Side façade shows a rare preserved example of late gothic timber framing from the 16th century with a brick-filled upper floor and restored lower section.
