Description

"Kasteel Elburg", or "Arent thoe Boecophuis", is a small medieval city castle in #Elburg (Gelderland), the Netherlands. After floods in 1362 and 1367, Elburg was relocated, and in 1393, Arent thoe Boecop was tasked by Duke Willem I to design a new city and build a castle. Likely the first stone building in Elburg, it was gifted to Arent upon completion. His son sold it to the city in 1400 for 1800 Gelderse guilders, and it became the town hall.
