The Belfry of Dunkirk, part of the city's town hall, is one of two belfries in Dunkirk (département du Nord). This 75-meter-high bell tower was inaugurated in 1901 by French President Émile Loubet and Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. Designed by architect Louis-Marie Cordonnier, the town hall features a stained-glass window on the first floor depicting the Battle of Texel, in which the Dunkirk privateer Jean Bart participated. A monumental 17th-century gate adorns the rear facade.
