Description

The town hall/belfry of #Hesdin in Pas-de-Calais, built mid-16th century under Charles V (Charles Quint), was originally a Habsburg palace for his sister Marie of Hungary. It features ornate renaissance elements: Habsburg eagle, Spanish coat of arms (added under Philip II), and a 1629 bretèche (brattice) balcony with statues of Faith, Hope, and Charity. Its attached belfry is 70 meters tall.
