Kasteel Bethlehem

Description

"Kasteel Bethlehem" in #Maastricht (Limburg), the Netherlands, is a medieval castle with a rich architectural history. Originating as a 13th-century fortified donjon, it features a robust round tower at the northeast-southeast corner, built from Limburg mergel and brick. Expanded in the 16th-17th centuries, the castle comprises four wings around a courtyard, accessed via a stone arch bridge. The early 19th-century addition, a plastered brick manor house, includes a three-story structure with a mansard roof, an octagonal stair tower, and a veranda with cast-iron columns. Gothic accolade arches adorn some doors and windows.
