The "Tafelrond" in #Leuven (Vlaams-Brabant), at the Grote Markt, is a neo-gothic building, the third iteration since 1480. The original gothic design by Matthijs de Layens featured three houses (Tafelront, Sint-Joris, Spaegnen) with heraldic stained-glass windows, an elaborate roof with dormers and turrets, and served as a meeting hall. After a 1553 fire, it was restored. In 1818, it was demolished for a neoclassical design by Charles Vander Straeten (1829-1832), used as a theater. Destroyed in 1914, it was rebuilt in 1926-1937 by Max Winders in neo-gothic style for the National Bank, with niches holding statues of financial figures.
