Description

The "Tolhuis" in #Gorinchem (Zuid-Holland), built in 1598, was originally a tollhouse for collecting taxes at the city's southernmost bastion. The structure features a right-angled layout with a sturdy tower and a polygonal stair tower. It has saddle roofs against gabled facades, plastered walls with arched windows, profiled water tables, and decorative anchors. The windows have 18th- and 19th-century-style glazing bars. Inside, there are vaulted cellars and carved keystones.
