The town hall of #Lommel (Limburg) was first built as a chapel during the Twelve Years' Truce (1609-21). It was seized by Protestants in 1648 and converted into a town hall. Used as a prison until 1807, it later served as a guardhouse. Demolished in 1845 due to decay, a new neoclassical town hall designed by Lambert Jaminé was completed in 1849. It was expanded in 1912-13 by F. Moers in an eclectic style.
