Constructed in: 1904
Typology: patrician house
Architect: J. De Weerdt
The "Quinten Matsys" house, a standout Art Nouveau gem on the Cogels-Osylei in #Antwerpen, was designed in 1904 by Jacques De Weerdt. He drew from Brussels masters: Strauven's stacked loggias in one bay, Hankar's open brick and ironwork, Blérot's swelling stone arches and Horta's stair iron. The third-floor balcony nods to nearby De Biekens; a stylized insect ties to Matsys legend.
