Het Vrouwenhuis

Description

The "Vrouwenhuis" in #Zwolle (Overijssel) is a monumental building that served as an old women's home from 1742. Around 1680, mayor Pieter Soury and painter Aleijda Wolfsen lived there, raised 15 children, and connected it to a rear house with floral corridor. In 1706 it was sold to wealthy spinster Aleida Greve, who willed it after her 1742 death to become a home for Reformed Church women.
