Description

A monumental residence in #Venlo (Limburg), built in 1896, exemplifies late-19th-century eclectic architecture with strong neo-renaissance and subtle neo-baroque influences, attributed to architect Henri Seelen. It features a high plinth, red brick facade in cross bond, and a flattened mansard roof with slate. The asymmetric front facade is richly ornamented: a projecting section with diamond rustication culminates in a striking gable with "1896" cartouche, ornate ironwork, and a balcony. Highlights include a grand oak entrance door under a round arch with lion-head consoles, a large first-floor bay window with stained-glass lights, and detailed stone carvings of acanthus and fluted pilasters. The rear is more irregular with two extensions and varied windows.
