"Mathesongården" in #Trondheim was built in 1898 for merchant Jacob Matheson, who started the city's first dedicated fabric/manufactory shop in 1852 and bought the plot in 1861, after the 1841 fire, among low post-fire wooden houses. Architect Karl Norum won the 1896 competition. It's designed in neo-baroque/Berlin neo-renaissance style, rendered brick, with rusticated base, pilasters, ornate windows, turrets, and a big green-painted zinc dome topped by golden symmetric rococo-ish decor with his initials.
