The "Neues Rathaus" (New Town Hall) in #Leipzig, seat of city administration since 1905, was built 1899-1905 on the site of the former Pleissenburg castle. Designed by Hugo Licht in historicist style, it features a castle-like appearance with ornate façade blending neo-renaissance, neo-baroque & Art Nouveau elements, rich sculptural decorations (lions, mythical creatures, Lipsia). Its 114.7 m tower is Germany's tallest city hall tower, retaining the old fortress silhouette.
