The city hall of #Philadelphia, built 1871-1901, is a grand Second Empire building designed by John McArthur Jr. Constructed of brick, white marble & limestone, it's the world's largest free-standing masonry building. Its 167 m tower, topped by a 11 m statue of William Penn, made it the tallest habitable structure globally from 1894-1908.
