Description

"Château de Maisons", built 1630-1651 in in #MaisonsLaffitte near Paris, was commissioned by René de Longueil and designed by François Mansart. It is a masterpiece of French baroque architecture, marking the transition from late renaissance to classical style with symmetry, harmonious proportions and balanced facades. Key features include a central block with short wings, a grand open staircase, monumental stables, and interiors like the King's apartment and Cabinet des Miroirs. It hosted young Louis XIV in 1651 and later inspired Vaux-le-Vicomte and Versailles.
